How Do I change a Rep Territory Assignment in BrokerForce™?
One can change the assignment of a rep to a
customer one customer at a time or as a group in BrokerForce Solo, Team, or with
a full replica in BrokerForce Enterprise.
To change the rep assignment for a customer:
- Click the <Customer> tab and go to the
customer record that needs the rep change
- Select another rep from the <Account Rep>
drop list and save your change by clicking the edit pencil at the top left of
the program
To change a batch of customer records:
- Click the <Customer> tab and go to any
customer record that needs a rep change
- If your intent is to change the assignment
for all records previously managed by another rep or, in a territory, city,
state, zip, phone prefix, or other group of records, right-click on the
field that contains the criterion that you want to change. Filters are
cumulative so, you can right click and filter by a rep, and then right-click
and filter by a zip code prefix.
- If a filter has been applied to the
Customer form by right-clicking one or more fields on the form as shown
below and selecting <Filter by Selection>, if you change that rep assignment
to another rep, you will be prompted "Cascade this change to all records
within this form's filter of " (your form filter).
- In the graphic below, the user has
right-clicked on the name "Haney, William". If the user were to change
the assignment to another rep, and answer <Yes> to cascade the change, all
of William Haney's customers would be assigned to another rep.

Changing a rep assignment will
NOT affect previously entered orders. Only orders entered after the change
will default to the new rep.
Assigning a secondary rep to an customer is
usually only significant for partial replicas of replicated data sets.
When a secondary rep is assigned, both the primary and secondary will see that
customer record and their order history.
